Trans Day of Remembrance

Each year, on the 20th of November, we remember and honour the loss of our trans siblings, victims of violence, suicide and other forms of oppression.

Organized by Trans United Europe and Transgender Netwerk, this year’s memorial will be on Wednesday, 20th of November, at 18:30 at Westerkerk in Amsterdam.

As this is an emotionally-charged and heavy day for all trans people, we have decided to organise an informal wind-down after-care moment at Bar Bario, starting at 21:00 after the official memorial. If you find yourself in need of a community moment to reflect on the day or just be together with other trans people, please join us.

Please do note that this is a moment for trans people to be together. Allies are of course not going to be turned away, but do be very mindful if this is a space you’d like to take up.
